Gemini Sports Analytics, the first sports specific end-to-end no-code Cloud AI tool that empowers organizations to better acquire and develop players to perform at their best and optimize tactics by making predictive analytics accessible and actionable is delighted to welcome Mat to the team. GSA’s Q1 raise of $1.5M from leAD Sports, Florida Funders, and Ocean Azul Partners fuels current growth to a full-time headcount of ten.
The Tasmanian native arrives from sports tech giant Catapult Sports, where he helped the company scale from 200 to 4000 teams over the past 7 years. After starting in Melbourne, Australia, he opened up the Asia-Pacific market before spending the past four years at Catapult’s US-HQ in Boston.
“Mat is the right person at the right time to take our product to market and I couldn’t be prouder to have him join us”, said Gemini CEO Jake Schuster. “It’s a tremendous market signal that an industry leader saw enough in our venture to jump into this boat and start rowing with us in our mission to make data-driven decision making more accessible”.
Mathew remarked, “The ability of sporting organizations to gain insights from their ever expanding data sets shouldn’t be limited by their team members ability to code, or the valuable time that they have available to write code and build models. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the GSA team and help teams enhance their decision making process in ways that weren’t before possible”.
As product-oriented operators, the GSA staff knew that it was time to turn to true experts in sales and marketing to help share their product with the world. Lead Engineer Chandler Evans remarked, “During our World Series run at the Houston Astros, I wish we’d had this tool that we’ve now built at GSA. During that time, we worked with several Australian practitioners and technologies and could see that they were ahead in terms of innovation. When I met Mat, I knew that he was a perfect fit for both our culture and vision”.
